Awarded to Commander of a SU-100 Jr. Lieutenant Ivan Iliych Mytsikov (Иван Ильич Мыциков)

 

For playing a key role in repelling multiple enemy counterattacks, eliminating around 90 enemy soldiers and officers, suppressing two anti-tank guns, and providing crucial fire support to advancing tanks

 

Only apx 1000 Soviets received the Order of the Red Star 3 times

 

 

The group consists of the following items:

 

Order of the Red Star #1529347

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 45.49 mm in height, 47.66 mm in width and weighs 29.5 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark Monetni Dvor and the serial number are located on the bottom of its reverse.

This order is in worn condition with light to medium wear to the raised areas on the silver medallion. The red enamels are without repairs but show substantial loss on the 9 and 5 o’clock rays. Its screw is full length and the well fitted screwplate is original to the order.

 

Order of the Red Star #1530530

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 45.77 mm in height, 47.65 mm in width and weighs 31.0 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark Monetni Dvor in two lines is located at the top of its reverse and the serial number at the bottom.

In excellent condition with light to medium wear to the raised areas on the silver medallion. The enamels are without repairs and fully present without chips. Both sides show a medium toning to the silver and the order comes with its time period and well fitted screwplate.

 

Order of the Red Star #3443074

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 46.19 mm in height, 48.26 mm in width and it weighs 31.0 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark Monetni Dvor in two lines is located at the top of its reverse and the serial number at the bottom.

In near mint condition with perfect enamels and crisp details. Both sides show a medium patina to the silver. It comes with its time period screwplate and uncut screw.

 

Documents (original and laminated)

  1. An official announcement of an award on behalf of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. It states the awarding of the “Order of the Red Star” to Ivan Iliych Mytsikov, a junior lieutenant. The award is given for bravery and exemplary execution of combat missions against the Germans. There is an official stamp and signature at the bottom.
  2. An official certificate confirming that Ivan Iliych Mytsikov received the Order of the Red Star. It includes his rank (junior lieutenant), a reference to the order granting the award, and the date (April 3, 1945). An official stamp and the commander’s signature are present.

Mytsikov as commander of self moving cannon spent a lot of energy of educating of his crew, as officer decisive.
In March 15, 1945 breaking enemy’s defense he always was ahead and inspired other crews. Being into defense in region Stefandorf, Michendorf participated in reflecting 4 enemy counterattacks from March 18-20, 1945 by fire of his cannon helped reflect all counterattacks to our infantry, destroying during this around 60 soldiers and officers.
Mytsikov deserves awarding by governmental award order “Red Star”.

 


Citation of the Order of the Red Star #1530530

Mytsikov Ivan Iliych – junior lieutenant, commander of self-moving cannon of 1727 self moving artillery order of Red Star regiment of 6 guard’s Mechanized Lvov Red Banner corps of 4 guard’s Tank Army of 1st Ukrainian Front.
As commander of self-moving cannon Mytsikov during combats from March 25 to April 2, 1945 showed himself as uncompromising and initiative officer.
In combat from March 31, 1945 participated in reflecting 2 counterattacks of German’s infantry and tanks.
In April 1, 1945 supporting attack of tanks of 61 tank brigade of 10 tank corps by fire of his cannon Mytsikov killed around 30 German’s soldiers and officers and suppressed 2 anti-tank cannons.
For showed persistence and initiative deserves governmental award order “Red Star”.
