Researched Soviet Order of the Red Star #45073
Awarded to Private Pyotr Petrovich Voloshin (Петр Петрович Волошин)
Partisan in the 208th Comrade Stalin Partisan Detachment
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 46.09 mm in height and 48.26 mm in width. It weighs 30.28 gram. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark on the 12 o’clock position of its reverse. This early variation is made out of two parts; the center piece, portraying a soldier, and the base.
This original Red Star order is in nice condition with lots of character. Some of the higher parts on the obverse show wear. Most details however are still visible. The enamel is problem free apart from some contact marks and a very small chip next to the Hammer and Sickle. The serial number and mint mark are crisp. There have been no repairs and the screwpost is full length. It comes with its time period silver screwplate.
Interesting note: according to Mondvor Narod the minimum know serial number of this variation is #45211. This Red Star would therefore qualify as the ‘new’ lowest serial number for this variation.
