Order of the Red Star #707103
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.93 mm in width; 48.55 mm in height and weighs 29.9 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This order is in great condition with most details visible. The red enamel shows a few tiny dings and scratches but none distracting from the overall appearance of the order. The higher laying parts on its obverse show light wear and the silver has a dark patina on its reverse. Its screw has not been shortened and the well fitted nut is time period to the order.
Probably awarded in the summer of 1944. Great research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
