Complete Documented Group of an Order of Glory and a Medal for Bravery

Awarded to Jr. Sergeant Fedor Timofeevich Evtushenko (Федор Тимофеевич Евтушенко)

 

Awarded for bravery and dedication as a driver and vehicle mechanic in the 447th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, ensuring timely delivery of ammunition under all combat conditions. Notably, during battles in the Carpathian Mountains and near Ostrava-Moravská, he enabled continuous artillery fire by maintaining supply lines and repairing a damaged vehicle under enemy fire

 

 

This group consist of the following items:

 

Order of Glory 3rd class #487513

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.48 mm in width, 47.55 mm in height and weighs 22.7 grams. The serial number is located on top of its reverse.

This order is in great, well about average condition with light wear to the raised areas and most details in the tower still visible. The enamels are fully present and show some dings and scratches only. Its connection ring has not been cut and it comes with its correct double layer steel suspension and old ribbon.

 

Medal for Bravery #1623173

Made of solid silver and red lacquer. Measures 37.00 mm in diameter, 42.17 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 24.3 grams.

The medal is in above average condition with numerous dings on both sides. Despite this most details are still visible and almost all of the red lacquer is still present. Its connection ring has not been cut, and the order comes with its period-appropriate suspension and an old ribbon.

The set comes with its order booklet in excellent condition with all pages firmly attached to its cover. It mentions the two awards above only

Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements for the Order of Glory 3rd class:

Evtushenko Fedor Timofeevich, Junior Sergeant and vehicle mechanic of the 447th Air Defense Artillery Regiment (Order of Kutuzov, 3rd Class) of the 76th Air Defense Artillery Perekop Division, Reserve of the Main Command.

Since 1941, he has fought against the German invaders, demonstrating bravery, courage, military skill, and loyalty to the Socialist Motherland.

As a vehicle mechanic, during battles near Ostrava-Moravská and at the Opava River bridgehead, his battery repeatedly advanced to point-blank range against enemy ground targets, often operating at the front line.

On April 26, 1945, artillery fire damaged a vehicle towing a cannon. Under enemy fire and at great personal risk, Evtushenko quickly repaired the vehicle and brought the cannon to its firing position. His skillful actions enabled the battery to successfully complete its combat mission.

He is recommended for the state award, the Order of Glory, Third Class.

4. Driver of the 447th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Corporal Evtushenko Fedor Timofeevich, consistently delivered ammunition on time under all combat, weather, and road conditions. During the battles in the Carpathian Mountains, he demonstrated endurance and bravery. Thanks to Evtushenko’s efforts, the artillery battery was continuously supplied with ammunition and maintained steady fire on the enemy, contributing to the success of our advancing infantry units.

Sergeant Evtushenko, Fedor Timofeevich

Comrade Evtushenko, from the first days of the Great Patriotic War, has shown himself to be a responsible soldier. During this period, he proved to be one of the best disciplined fighters in our unit. He is one of the best auto mechanics and team players in the unit. The command has repeatedly commended Comrade Evtushenko and awarded him high government awards: the Order of Glory 3rd class, the Medal “For Courage”, and a number of commendations from the unit’s command.

During the war, Comrade Evtushenko repeatedly displayed examples of bravery and courage in battles with the enemy. Together with comrades and other soldiers, he completed all combat missions assigned by the command. As an auto mechanic, Comrade Yevtushenko performed his duties excellently, putting in all his effort, knowledge, and energy to bring victory over German-fascist invaders closer.

Comrade Evtushenko, while working as an auto mechanic in a mobile repair team, took part in the restoration and repair of vehicles, thereby ensuring the successful execution of combat missions.

In the most difficult moments of wartime, Comrade Evtushenko showed tireless work ethic in the auto repair section of the unit. All work was done on time and with high quality. He knows his machinery well, loves it, and as an organizer and commander, he handled his duties excellently.

In the future, he can be used in leadership technical roles.

Comrade Evtushenko is politically mature and devoted to the cause of the party of Lenin and Stalin, the socialist motherland. He is one of the best representatives of our Red Army working-class army.
