Complete Documented Group of a Soviet Order of the Red Star, Bravery Medal and a Medal for Combat Merit

 

Awarded to Private Ivan Tarasovich Krivenko (Иван Тарасович Кривенко)

 

For exceptional skill against the Japanese imperialists, transporting equipment in tough terrain, securing artillery positions under enemy fire, and delivering ammunition during pursuit

 

 

 

The group consists of the following items:

 

Order of the Red Star #2616034

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.26 mm in width, 46.10 mm in height and weighs 31.7 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.

The beautiful order is in excellent, well above average condition with light to medium wear to its center medallion. The enamels are very well preserved and without repairs and show some minor contact marks only. The order comes with a well fitted and time period screwplate.

 

Medal for Bravery #3328924

Made of solid silver and lacquer. Measures 37.18 mm in width, 42.69 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 28.3 grams without its suspension.

The medal is in good overall condition with several dings and scratches on both sides and a dark patina to the silver. Most details are still visible and crisp and some of the original red lacquer is still present. There have been no repairs and its connection ring has not been cut. The medal comes with its time period double layer suspension.

 

Medal for Combat Merit #907478

Made of solid silver. Measures 32.31 mm in diameter, 37.18 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.4 grams without its suspension.

In similar condition as the Medal for Bravery with a dark patina to the silver and several dings and scratches on both sides. The red lacquer filling the letters CCCP is worn off but its details remain visible. Its connection ring has not been cut and the medal comes with its time period double layer suspension.

 

Order Booklet

In problem free condition with all pages present and firmly attached to its cover. The booklet mentions the three awards above alone.

 

Translation of the citation for the Red Star:

In August 13, 1945 performing by combat task in combats with Japanese imperialists, moving across mountains, by his vehicle he pulled 3 cannons and 2 vehicles, what contributed to performing of assigned combat task.
Performing march in off-road condition he saved 40kg of fuel.
During combat actions of regiment he didn’t have any single break or accident. Small repairs of vehicle performed personally.
Deserves governmental award order “Red Star”.

 

Translation of the citation for the Medal for Bravery:

7. Driver of 6 artillery battery guard’s soldier Krivenko Ivan Tarasovich. In April 13, 1945 under heavy enemy fire he skillfully drove his vehicle with cannon and secured opening of fire by this cannon on new place.

Translation of the citation for the Medal for Bravery:

2. Driver of 7 artillery battery guard’s soldier Krivenko Ivan Tarasovich. During enemy’s chasing timely delivered ammunition on fire points, what secured performing of assigned combat task.
