Soviet Order of the Red Star #1970012
Made of silver and enamels. It measures 48.01 mm in width, 45.82 mm in height and weighs 30.6 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in worn but decent condition. The red enamels are all present without repairs but show some corrosion. The higher laying parts on its silver center piece shows medium wear although most details are still present. The well fitted nut is time period to the order.
Most likely awarded around the summer of 1945 so with good research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service; prior to the creation of the long service awards.
