Soviet Order of the Red Star #1084494
Soviet Order of the Red Star; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.48 mm in width; 46.56 mm in height and weighs 31.6 gram. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in nice condition with problem free enamels. The higher laying parts on its obverse show medium wear but still much details are still visible. After the last digit ‘4’ there appears to be a ‘1’ but this is a small scratch and not part of the serial number. The nut is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.
Probably awarded in november ’44 so nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
