Order of the Red Banner #311306

With its document to Ivan Afanasevich Kazakov (Иван афанасьевич Казаков)

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 46.36 mm in height, 37.96 mm in width and it weighs 25.2 grams without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.

This order of the Red Banner is in excellent condition with full gold plating and an appealing patina on both sides. The higher parts on the obverse show light wear and most details are all crisp. The enamel is beautiful and without repairs and show a minor superficial chip on the top left only (near the P in Proletarij/ Пролетарий). There are no repairs and the order comes with its time period suspension.

The order comes with its original award booklet in excellent condition with all pages firmly attached and mentions this Red Banner only.

The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
