For exemplary combat service as a Pe-2 pilot: he completed 25 successful combat sorties, demonstrating excellent piloting and consistently accurate bombing. His missions destroyed enemy manpower, vehicles, carts, anti-aircraft positions, and supply concentrations across multiple targets in February-March 1945

 

 

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 46.23 mm in height, 37.88 mm in width and it weighs 27.1 grams without its suspension. The serial number and mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.

 

In great condition with light overall wear and a fair amount of the original gold plating still present. The red and white enamels are well preserved without repairs and show some minor superficial flakes only. The reverse shows an appealing patina to the silver and several small dings. Its connection ring has not been cut and the double layer steel suspension is time period to the award.

On 02/18/1945 as a result of a bombardment strike on the point of JORDANSMÜHLE, two fires were created in the goal and up to 15 enemy soldiers were annihilated, the result of the bombardment was photographed.

On 03/16/1945 bombing on the congestion of the motor vehicled in the forest east of the point Weidengut. According to the photographic plate, explosions of bombs were all in the target, as a result of which there were 2 fires created in the target.

For 25 successful combat sorties, effective bombing while inflicting considerable damage on the enemy’s manpower and technology, he is worthy of being presented to the governmental award order of the “RED BANNER”.
