Soviet Order of the Red Banner #226816

Петр Федорович Кондратюк

Awarded to IS-122 Lieutenant Petr Fedorovich Kondratyuk (Петр Федорович Кондратюк)

When being wounded he kept on fighting with his IS-122 tank until the opponent had been knocked out of the populated area. During this battle comrade Kondratyuk destroyed five Panzerfaust-shooters with his course machine gun, and the crew of his vehicle destroyed 3 anti-tank guns and up to 25 Hitlerists

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.43 mm in height, 37.52 mm in width and it weighs 25.0 grams without its suspension. The serial number and curved mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.

In excellent, above average condition with light to medium wear to the higher laying parts like the center wreath. Most details are still visible and both sides show several small dings and scratches but none distracting from the overall appeal of the order. The white enamel is flawless and the red enamel shows some contact marks and minuscule superficial chipping only. Its connection ring has not been cut and the order comes with its old double steel suspension.

Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:

Guards junior technician Lieutenant Peter Fedorovich Kondratiuk was badly wounded in the battle for the city Lekinu as a senior mechanic – driver of a IS-122 tank but comrade Kondratyuk kept driving his tank, until the opponent had been knocked out of the populated area. In this battle, comrade Kondratyuk destroyed five Panzerfaust-shooters with his course machine gun, and the crew of his vehicle destroyed 3 anti-tank guns and up to 25 Hitlerists.

For his courage in battle, comrade Kondratyuk deserves the governmental award of the order of the “Red Banner”.
