For extraordinary bravery in rescuing the wounded. Comrade Churkina evacuated dozens of soldiers under heavy machine-gun fire during the Vistula breakthrough and the Oder crossing, saving lives at great personal risk until she herself was wounded in action

Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order weighs 26. grams without its screwplate and measures 44.66 mm in width and 46.63 mm in height.
In excellent condition with crisp details and a nice medium patina to the silver on both sides. The red and white enamels are stunning and well preserved without chipping and repairs and show a few small contact marks only. The order comes with a time period and well fitted screwplate and there have been no repairs.
Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits:
In the battle to break through the German positional defense on the west bank of the Vistula River in the direction of the city of Radom on 14 January 1945, despite enemy fire and a clear danger to her life, under machine-gun fire, she assisted the wounded, taking them to a shelter, thereby rendering assistance to 30 wounded.
In the battle for the crossing of the Oder river, she carried 15 wounded out of the fire up the stairs to the blown up bridge, providing them with the necessary assistance, helping to raise a high offensive impulse and preserve the lives of the wounded. On 6 February 1945, comrade Churkina was wounded. Is worthy of being awarded the “Order of the Red Banner”.
