Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits:

Petty officer 1 class SHEIKIN Ivan Aleksandrovich has been serving as a radio operator on the motorboat since 1937. He is a disciplined and calm serviceman. During his service on the motorboat, he conducted himself exemplary in all his assignments, irregardless of any complications caused by combat situations.

Due to lack of crew personnel on the motorboat, comrade SHEIKIN mastered motor mechanic speciality and performed this duty.

Exhibiting persistence in his work, he made over 220 trips towing barges carrying our troops. He worked hours long shifts inside the motor compartment and on the deck in all possible stormy weather conditions, under enemy artillery fire and air strikes. All these tasks, the primary duties as well as others, he performed with utmost professionalism.

During the whole period of the crossing operations, there were no occurrences of Petty officer 1 class SHEIKIN complaining about severity of combat conditions. He dedicated all his energy to the cause of struggle against the German invaders.

He deserves order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”.
