Awarded to Sr. Lieutenant Aydynov Agadzhan Alikhan-ogly (Айдынов Агаджан Алихан-оглы)

 

For the assault on Berlin. He destroyed multiple enemy positions, was first to open fire on Berlin, entered its outskirts on 21 April 1945, and in street fighting eliminated 12 machine-gun positions, 3 anti-aircraft guns, and 2 mortars

Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 45.31 mm in height, 43.63 mm in width and weighs 31.4 grams without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark Monetni Dvor is located at the 12 o’clock position of its reverse.

 

In good condition with crisp details and light overall wear. The red and white enamels are free from repairs but show a small superficial chip and a scratch on the 9 o’clock ray of the red star; the other arms are flawless. its reverse is in excellent condition with crisp details and a nice light patina. The order comes with it well fitted screwpate and its screw has not been shortened.

 

Brief description of his feat of arms or achievements:

In the operation for breaking out of the Oder bridgehead, comrade AIDYNOV supported our rifle units providing close artillery support firing with open sights. He was destroying enemy firing positions enabling advance of rifle troops. As the result of these battles, his artillery platoon destroyed 12 machine-gun emplacements and 2 enemy field guns.

Approaching the Berlin city, he was the first to open fire at the city. On 21 April 1945, he and his platoon were the first to enter Berlin city outskirts, while providing artillery support to our rifle units and destroying enemy firing positions. During street fighting, he was rolling his guns among our advancing infantry formation and destroyed: 12 machine-gun positions, 3 anti-aircraft cannons, and 2 mortars.

He deserves state award order “LENIN”.
