Awarded to Sergeant Vasily Evgenyevich Dyakov (Василий Евгеньевич Дьяков)

 

For quickly and efficiently repairing malfunctioning small arms during battle, returning them to service in difficult conditions under enemy fire

 

 

Made of solid silver. Measures 37.29 mm in diameter and 2.75 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 42.75 mm (including the eyelet) and it weighs 27.3 grams without its suspension. 

In above average condition with medium overall wear and a nice even dark patina to the silver on both sides. The details of the raised areas like the rivets on the side of the tank are mostly visible although some are worn off. The original lacquer filling the letters is mostly present with some small chips only. The medal comes with its time period suspension and ribbon and its connection ring has not been cut.

Awarded to the senior technician of the artillery depot regiment – Staff Sergeant Dyakov Vasily Evgenyevich – for, in difficult conditions under enemy fire, quickly and efficiently repairing malfunctioning small arms during battle, returning them to service.

Born in 1908, member of the VKP(b) since July 1944, Russian. Participated in the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. Has no wounds or contusions. Drafted into the Red Army on April 10, 1941, by the Taganrog District Military Commissariat, Rostov Region. Awarded the Medal “For Battle Merit” by order No. 016 dated 16.2.44.
