Order of the Red Banner #49594

Евдосев Тимофей Захарович

Rare variation with its mintmark lacking the word ‘Dvor’

Awarded to Jr. Lieutenant Timofey Zakharovich Evdosev (Тимофей Захарович Евдосев)

For flying 13 successful IL-2 combat missions, proving himself as a brave and fearless pilot in the 621st Ground Assault Aviation Regiment on the Stalingrad Front. He destroyed 11 tanks, 48 vehicles, a fuel truck, three enemy-occupied houses, and inflicted up to 350 enemy casualties, skillfully using his aircraft’s firepower while evading enemy anti-aircraft fire and fighters

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 40.45 mm in height, 36.44 mm in width and weighs 24.4 grams without its screwplate. Its serial number and mint mark can be found on the bottom of its reverse. This variation lacks the word ‘Dvor’ in Монетный Двор and is rarely seen.

In worn but decent condition, considering it is a wartime screwback Red Banner. The raised areas show medium wear, with a fair amount of detail still visible. The white enamel is well-preserved without chipping, and the red enamel, while without repairs, has substantial flaking—about 80% remains, with loss mainly on the center star and top banner. The reverse, however, is in great overall condition, featuring an appealing patina on the silver with only a few dings and scratches. The order has never been converted to a suspension variation, and its screwpost has not been shortened. It comes with its original period silver screwplate.
