Soviet Order of the Red Banner 3rd award #4132

 

 

Made of silver and enamels. Measurements; 58.01 mm in width; 57.97 mm in height and weighs 26.6 gram. The mint mark “Monjetnij dvor” in a straight line and the serial number “4132” are positioned at the bottom of its reverse. The minimum known serial number awarded is 4151 and the maximum is 4374.

 

This original order of the Red Banner in great condition with all details crisp. The enamel is also problem free apart from a small superficial flake on the bottom of the top banner. Most of the gold plating is still present and the reverse shows no dings or scratches. Its connection ring has not been cut and the suspension belongs to the order.

 

Rare variation with only 220 made!

 

 

The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of the Order of the Red Banner. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
