Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus variation 1
Scarce sub-variation with the soldiers on the tank carrying rifles
Made of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.09 mm in diameter, 37.78 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 17.1 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in nice condition with light overall wear on its obverse. Most details are well defined and much gold plating is still present. Its reverse shows more wear and although the text is still perfectly readable, much of the edges of the lettering is worn off. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has not been cut. Its ribbon is a replacement for its old one.

Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of the Caucasus region during WW2 between July 1942 and 9 October 1943.
