This Order of Glory 1st class is made of solid gold and enamels. Measures 48.43 mm in height (including the eyelet), 46.88 mm in width and weighs 30.9 gram. The serial number, 1078, is located at the 12 o’clock position on its reverse.
he order is in excellent condition with most details crisp. Even the higher laying parts have little wear and the red enamel is problem free. The gold shows several small dings and dents but far less than usual. The order has no repairs and it comes with its original double layer steel suspension and uncut connection ring. The minimum number known is 1 and the maximum is 2988.
A rare piece and very hard to upgrade!

“On March 22, 1945, during the fighting near the village of Kunzendorf, he served as the commander of an artillery piece. In spite of heavy enemy rifle and machine-gun fire he fought alongside the infantry. He spotted 2 enemy machine guns, suppressed them, and fought off an enemy attack, killing as many as 20 soldiers in the process. He took an officer prisoner and killed 2 Germans with his personal weapon. In doing so he displayed bravery and courage.
He deserves the Order of Glory, 1st Class.”
