Awarded to Tatar Guards Lieutenant Colonel Akzam Salikhovich Ramazanov (Акзам Салихович Рамазанов)
For skillfully organizing the political activities within the regiment and for his bravery in combat with the German invaders
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.67 mm in height, 37.68 mm in width and it weighs 24.7 gram without its suspension. The serial number and mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
This original early suspension type Order of the Red Banner is in excellent, far above average condition with most gold plating still present. The details are crisp and even the higher laying wreath in the center shows little wear. The enamel only has some minor superficial flaking, barely visible with the naked eye. The connection ring has been cut and the double sided steel suspension is time period to the award.

“Comrade Ramazanov has been serving as deputy regimental commander for political affairs since May 1943.
During his time in this capacity he has shown himself a thoughtful and pensive political operative, constantly concerning himself with the lives of the men and officers.
During the fighting between August 13 and August 21, 1943, the 45th Guards Rifle Regiment performed superbly while advancing and while breaching the enemy’s line of defense.
The 45th Guards Rifle Regiment is one of the division’s best regiments.
During all past battles comrade Ramazanov was stationed among the battalions and companies at the front line. When organizing attacks he cheered up his men with jokes. Through personal example he taught the regiment’s and battalions’ political officers how to act during offensive warfare. On September 18, 1943 comrade Ramazanov was wounded in battle.
Comrade Ramazanov is a tactically competent officer who is well versed in the art of war and brave in combat. Through his skillful political activities he ensured his unit’s high level of combat capability and an offensive spirit among the men.
For skillfully organizing the political activities within the regiment and for his bravery in combat with the German invaders, he deserves to be awarded the Order of the Red Banner.”
