Soviet Order of the Red Star #985021
Soviet Order of the Red Star; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 50.21 mm in width; 48.33 mm in height and weighs 30.3 gram. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This order is in nice condition with most details visible. The higher laying parts on its obverse show little wear and both sides have a medium dark patina. The enamel is problem free apart from a superficial chip on the 7 o’clock ray of the red star. The nut is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.
Nice research potential. Probably awarded in November ’44.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
