For overseeing the acceptance of submarine military materiel in England, organizing personnel training and battle station preparedness, and exemplary service as watch commander aboard submarine “В-2” during the return voyage to the Soviet Union

 

 

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 50.02 mm in width, 48.53 mm in height and weighs 29.6 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.

 

In excellent, above average condition with flawless enamels. The raised areas on its obverse show light wear only and its details are all crisp. The reverse is in equally great condition and shows very few dings and scratches and an appealing dark patina. The well fitted screwplate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.

 

Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits:

During his assignment in England, he oversaw the acceptance of the military materiel for the submarine squadron: mines, torpedoes, artillery, ammunition, spare parts, and instruments for the submarine operations. He organised efficient personnel training and the equipment prepping of the artillery (BS-2) and mine-torpedo (BS-3) battle stations and prepared them for the home tour. Simultaneously, he was performing the commander duties of the minetorpedo (BS-3) and the signals (BS-4) battle stations. During the home tour from England to the Soviet Union, he was executing he duties of the watch commander on the submarine “В-2”, where he exhibited examples of diligent service and was an examples to the rest of the crew.

Sailing under Soviet flag she sank the German submarine chaser UJ-1220 on 12 October 1944. She spent four years in Soviet service before being returned to the Royal Navy in 1949. She was scrapped at Gateshead from 9 May 1950.
