Soviet Order of the Red Star; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.52 mm in width; 48.03 mm in height and weighs 30.6 gram. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in excellent, above average condition with flawless enamels. The higher laying parts on its obverse show light wear only and its details are mostly visible. The reverse is in equally excellent condition and shows very few dings and scratches and an appealing medium dark patina. The wel fitted silver screwplate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.
A beautiful piece with nice research potential. Probably awarded in October-November ’44.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
