Order of the Red Star #688884
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.10 mm in width, 47.67 mm in height and weighs 27.4 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
Excellent condition with most details clearly visible. The red enamel has a few small dings and contact marks, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance. The raised areas on the obverse show light wear, while the reverse retains a beautiful silky silver sheen. The screw post remains full length, and the well-fitted nut is period-correct.
Probably awarded in the summer of 1944. Great research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
