For excellent executing orders and eliminating 700 enemy soldiers and several guns while doing so
Order of the Red Star; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.42 mm in width, 47.86 mm in height and weighs 28.9 gram. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This order is in excellent, well above average condition with most details visible. The enamel is beautiful and only shows some minute contact marks. The higher laying parts on its obverse show light wear only. Its screw has not been shortened and the solid silver nut is time period to the order.
Short translation of his feats:
In the offensive operation during 13-18 January 1944, comrade NOVIKOV has been on the front line of our formations, on the firing positions. He ensured the commander orders were promptly executed. As the result of this effort; the regiment fended off 8 enemy infantry counter-attacks and one attack supported by the enemy armour. Two “Ferdinands” (self propelled guns) were hit, 3 field guns were destroyed, 4 guns were suppressed, 6 pillboxes were destroyed, destroyed 9 light and 7 heavy machine-guns. 3 enemy artillery batteries were suppressed. Up to 700 enemy troops were scattered and partially eliminated.
For the heroic conduct of the troops, the regiment recommended 98 men for an award.
Comrade NOVIKOV deserves state award order “RED STAR”.
