Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.65 mm in width, 46.03 mm in height and weighs 27.2 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post. The minimum known serial number is 235999 and the maximum is 594967.
This beautiful order is in great, well above average condition with most details crisp. The red enamels are well preserved without repairs and show some small dings and scratches, most noticeably on the 12 and 3 o’clock rays. The raised areas on its obverse show light wear only and the silver has a medium patina. Its screw has not been shortened and its well witted screwplate is time period to the order.
Probably awarded in the spring of 1944. Great research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
