Order of the Red Star #504470
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.97 mm in width, 46.27 mm in height and weighs 28.8 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In worn condition although most details are still visible. The enamel shows loss on the 12 and 3 o’clock rays of the star and is problem free on the other rays. The reverse is in great condition with an appealing dark patina. Its screw remained its full length and the order comes with a post war screwplate.
Not in the best condition but probably awarded during the first half of 1944 so with nice research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
