Awarded posthumously to Jr. Sgt. and Gunner Pavel Alexandrovich Skarzhynets (Павел Александрович Скаржинец)
For being a brave and courageous soldier in Afghanistan. Sgt. Skarzhynets died in battle on 27 February 1980
Scarce and very late Soviet variation with a serial number engraved with a rotating tool
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.04 mm in width, 45.81 mm in height and weighs 29.4 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in mint condition with all details crisp and an appealing patina to the silver on both sides. The red enamels are absolute stunning without any dings, scratches or even contact marks. Its screw has not been shortened and the order comes with its well fitted screwplate.
Its accompanying booklet is in superb condition too with all pages firmly attached to the cover. It mentions this Order of the Red Star alone and is numbered ‘Л 825822’.
