Awarded to Lieutenant Vasily Gerasimovich Kushnarev (Василий Герасимович Кушнарев)
For repairing 52 tanks, of which 4 tanks were repaired directly on the battlefield under enemy fire
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.57 mm in width, 46.49 mm in height and weighs 28.6 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post. The minimum known serial number is 235999 and the maximum is 594967.
In excellent, above average condition with medium wear to the raised silver part. The red enamels are problem free without chipping, flaking or repairs and show some small dings and contact marks only. Its reverse is in equally nice condition and shows an appealing medium dark patina. Its screw has not been shortened and the silver screwplate fits well and is time period to the order.
Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits:
Comrade Kushnarev, being in the battalion since April 1943 as a combat vehicle repair technician, acted boldly and prudently in all battles, correctly distributed the forces of repairmen and ensured the quick recovery of tanks knocked out in battle.
During the period of his service in the battalion, comrade Kushnarev repaired 52 tanks, of which 4 tanks were repaired directly on the battlefield, under enemy fire.
For the quick restoration of disabled materiel, for courage and bravery in battle, comrade Kushnarev is worthy of the governmental award of the order of the Red Star.
