Relatively uncommon variation manufactured by the Moscow Platinpribor Factory (MZPP)
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.50 mm in width, 46.67 mm in height and weighs 31.3 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In nice condition with medium wear to the raised areas like the soldier. The red enamels are problem free without repairs and some contact marks only. Its reverse shows a medium toning to the silver and its screw has not been shortened. The nut fits the order well and is time period.
Probably awarded in the summer of ’45 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
