Order of the Red Star #2051925
Relatively uncommon variation manufactured by the Moscow Platinpribor Factory (MZPP)
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.33 mm in width, 47.16 mm in height and weighs 32.5 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in excellent condition with light to medium wear to the higher laying parts like the soldier. The red enamel is problem free without repairs and shows some dings and scratches only. Both sides show a light toning to the silver and its screw has not been shortened. The nut fits the order well and is time period to the order.
Probably awarded in the summer of ’45 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
