Made of silver and enamels. The order measures 46.99 mm in width, 46.07 mm in height and weighs 28.4 grams without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark on the 12 o’clock position of its reverse. This early variation has a round base ‘heel’ of the screw.

In a nice, about average condition with medium overall wear. Some of the details of the raised medallion have worn off but the shape of the soldier and his rifle are still perfectly visible. The enamels are well preserved and without repairs but show a small chip on the very tip of the 7 o’clock ray. The reverse is in excellent condition and shows a nice even dark patina. The screwpost is full length and the order comes with its time period silver screwplate.

Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:

In battles he showed selflessness and courage. In an operation on 01/01/1943, the settlement of M-Kachamiyu, Rostov Region, comrade Kamuz commanded a machine-gun platoon of heavy machine guns. On the night of 12/31/1942 to January 1, 1943, the battalion secretly approached the enemy’s flank, comrade Kamuz led his platoon to the front of the enemy’s fence by 100 meters and with a sudden fire attack from heavy machine guns caused panic in the camp of the enemy. The enemy began to withdraw under cover of mortar fire and from machine guns of armored vehicles; one machine gun of comrade Kamuz was put out of action absolutely by a direct hit, at another one there was a delay, because the entire crew of the machine gun was smashed; then comrade Kamuz himself rolled out the machine gun into an open position, persistently poured its fire on the enemy infantry and prevented the enemy armored vehicles from approaching our combat formations. In this firefight, comrade Kamuz set fire to one armored vehicle of the enemy and provided fire support for the advancing units of the battalion. In this battle, comrade Kamuz was seriously wounded. For showing courage and initiative, Senior Lieutenant Kamuz is worthy of being awarded a governmental award.
