Order of the Red Star #1970575
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.83 mm in width, 46.07 mm in height and weighs 32.0 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In good condition with medium wear to the raised areas like the soldier. The red enamels are well preserved and without repairs or flaking. Both sides show a medium toning to the silver and several dings and scratches. Its screw has not been shortened and the time period nut fits the order well.
Probably awarded in the summer of ’45 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
