Soviet Order of the Red Star; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.12 mm in width; 46.11 mm in height and weighs 28.6 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in excellent condition with much detail. The red enamel is flawless and there are almost no dings and scratches. Both sided show a beautiful dark toning and its screw has not been shortened. The nut is time period to the order.
A stunning piece with great eye appeal. Probably awarded in the spring of ’45 so nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
