Soviet Order of the Red Star #1724198
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.76 mm in width, 46.38 mm in height and weighs 30.9 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in nice condition with medium wear on its higher laying parts like the soldier. Most details however are still visible. The red enamel shows some small contact marks only and no repairs. Its screw has been shortened and its screwplate is a replacement of a later type.
Probably awarded in the spring of ’45 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
