Order of the Red Star #152022

Awarded to Guards Private Anton Stepanovich Kulish (Антон Степанович Кулиш)

For risking his life refueling the tanks and armoured vehicles with his Zis-5 fuel truck at the Battle of Stalingrad. As a result of his commitment and bravery the tanks were never delayed due to lack of fuel

Made of silver and enamels. The order measures 47.32 mm in width, 46.88 mm in height and weighs 29.4 grams without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark on the 12 o’clock position of its reverse. This early variation has a round base ‘heel’ of the screw.

In worn but decent condition. The higher laying parts show medium wear but a fair amount of details is still visible. The enamels on the 12 o’clock ray of the star is lost but is fully present and original on the other arms. The reverse is in excellent condition and shows a dark patina. The screwpost is full length and the order comes with its time period silver screwplate.

A nice award for the famous Battle of Stalingrad
