Order of the Red Star #1412945 with booklet
Awarded to Sapper Sergey Arhipovich Filipovich (Сергей Архипович Филипович)
For engaging in battles against German invaders, disarming over 250 mines, helping repel a German counterattack, personally killing 10 enemy soldiers with his machine gun and capturing one. Filipovich was severely wounded in the arm during his last battle and his arm was amputated
Since this Order of the Red Star was Filipovich’s only numbered award, it can be considered to be a complete, documented grouping
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.21 mm in width, 46.21 mm in height and weighs 31.9 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In worn condition with a strong patina to the silver on both sides. The raised areas of the central medallion like the soldier show moderate to heavy wear, though much detail is still visible. Most of the enamel remains intact, but there is significant loss on the 7 o’clock ray of the star. The screwplate is original to the order, and the screw remains unshortened.
The order comes with its award booklet which is in excellent condition with all pages firmly attached to the cover. This Red Star is the only award listed.

Filipovich participated in combats with German’s invaders during advancing of our infantry demined German’s defense line, dismounted during this more than 250 mines, participated in reflecting of German’s counterattack and from his machine-gun personally killed 10 Germans and captured 1. In last combat he was heavy wounded in arm, arm amputated.
Deserves governmental award order “Red Star”.
