Soviet Order of the Red Star #1406907
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.27 mm in width, 47.57 mm in height and weighs 31.6 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In nice condition without repairs. The enamels are problem free apart from a minor enamel chip on the 9 o’clock ray of the red star, not penetrating the silver. The higher laying parts on its obverse show light to medium wear with most details still visible. The screwplate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.
Probably awarded during the first months of 1945 so nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
