Order of the Red Star #1091929
Soviet Order of the Red Star; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 50.27 mm in width, 48.57 mm in height and weighs 30.7 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in excellent condition with beautiful enamels. The higher laying parts on its obverse show light to medium wear and most details are still visible. Both sides show a light patina to the silver and the well fitted nut is time period to the order. Its screw has not been shortened and there have been no repairs.
Great piece. Probably awarded late ’44 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
