For exceptional courage and bravery in the combat engagement at Smolensk overcoming the enemy defenses and being the first to rush into he enemy trenches eliminating German troops by the fire of his personal firearm
This original order of the Red Banner is made of silver and enamels. It measures 40.36 mm in height, 36.35 mm in width and weighs 23.6 grams without its screwplate. The serial number and mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
In a nice, above average condition. The details are mostly crisp and the higher laying parts like the center wreath show light wear. The red enamel has the often seen damage on the center star and a small chip on the bottom of the top banner but 90% is still present and without repairs. The white enamel is fully present and without damage. Its reverse is in great condition with few small dings and scratches only and shows an appealing dark patina. The screwpost is original and has not been shortened and the order has not been converted. The order comes with its time period and well fitted silver screwplate.
The order comes with its award booklet mentioning the Red Banner next to another Red Banner. The booklet is in excellent condition with all pages present and firmly attached to its cover.

“Comrade KRASNIKOV inspired and led the troops by personal example during the offensive operations at the villages Plyuschevo and near the village Zhukovo (Dukhovshchina district, Smolensk region).
He raised twice the troops into an assault and overcame the enemy defences. He exhibited exceptional courage and bravery in the combat engagement. Having been the first to rush into he enemy trenches, he eliminated 3 German troops by the fire of his personal firearm.
For courage and bravery exhibited in the battle against the German invaders, comrade KRASNIKOV deserves state award – order “RED BANNER”.”
