Awarded to Senior Sgt. Grigory Aksentyevich Arion (Григорий Аксентьевич Арион)

Commander of a 76mm Pak ZIS-3

For personally destroying 5 machine guns, 2 mortars and 2 anti-tank guns and eliminating 6 enemy tanks with his crew near Warsaw. Arion was recommanded for the title ‘Hero of the Soviet Union’

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 46.16 mm in height, 37.53 mm in width and it weighs 25.9 gram without its suspension. The serial number and curved mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.

This Order of the Red Banner is in excellent, above average condition. The details are crisp and the enamel is problem free apart from some small contact marks and a superficial chip at the 9 o’clock ray of the centre red star. A fair amount of the gold plating is still present and the connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with its time period double layer steel suspension.
