Soviet Order of the Red Banner #212146

 

Awarded to the Jewish Major Yeremei Semyonovich Malinsky (Еремей Семенович Малинский)

 

For taking part in the Perekop landings and the landings at Kerch where he was wounded

 

 

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.73 mm in height, 37.89 mm in width and it weighs 27.3 gram without its suspension. The serial number and curved mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.

 

In a nice condition with an enamel chip but without repairs. The details on the higher laying parts like the centre wreath and the flame of the torch show medium wear and there are several small contact marks and dings on both sides. The red enamel is mostly present and problem free apart from a chip on the bottom of the top banner. The white enamel is flawless and its connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with its time period double layer steel suspension.

 

Short excerpt of his achievements:

Awarded on March 31, 1946 to Major (later Lieutenant Colonel) Yeremei Semyonovich Malinsky, head of the Navy Club, Black Sea Fleet. The Red Banner was awarded for his combined service during the war. Throughout the war he served with the Black Sea Fleet. He took part in the Perekop landings in September 1941, acting bravely in combat and inspiring his men. In December 1941 he took part in the landings at Kerch. He was wounded here in January 1942. Immediately after the liberation of Sevastopol he entered the city and started organizing cultural activities for the fleet and restoring its cultural organizations. Of Jewish origins, Malinsky served in the Navy from 1930 to 1937 and since 1939. He was awarded several other orders, medals, and long service awards for his service.
