For clearing a highway in the Tempelhof area in Berlin after being temporarily re-occupied by the Germans, leaving dozens of dead German soldiers on the battlefield
Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order weighs 23.7 grams without its screwplate and measures 46.43 mm in width and 47.52 mm in height.
In worn condition with enamel loss on the 3 and 9 o’clock rays of the red star and a chip on the 7 o’clock ray. The white enamel is well preserved without damage and there have been no enamel repairs. Its details are all visible and even the edges on the raised gold hammer and sickle are crisp. The order comes with a time period and well fitting screwplate and its long screw has not been shortened.
Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits:
Comrade Borin, working as a T-34 tank commander, gave all his efforts and signs to train personnel and extend the life of the machine. In battles with the German fascist invaders, comrade Borin proved himself to be a courageous and responsive commander. On April 24, 1945, while crossing the Spree River / Berlin / the enemy cut off the highway leading from the command post to the observation post of the corps commander. Comrade Borin was tasked with clearing the road from the German fascist invaders. Comrade Borin, despite the enemy’s heavy artillery shelling, was entrusted with the task of carrying out the cleaning, leaving dozens of dead Germans on the battlefield.
For his courage and bravery, comrade Borin is worthy of being awarded the governmental award of the order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class.
