Description

Soviet Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class #118908

Коробко Арсений Николаевич

Awarded to Guards Lieutenant Arsenij Nikolaevich Korobko (Арсений Николаевич Коробко)

For fending off enemy attacks in Moldavia and personally eliminating 9 Hitlerites in the process

Korobko was wounded on 22 October 1941

Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order weighs 25.3 gram without its screwplate and measures 45.82 mm in width and 47.83 mm in height. Its serial number and straight mint mark in two lines can de found on the bottom of its reverse. The minimal known serial number of this variation produced by the Leningrad Min (LMD) is 100354 and the maximum number is 134917.

This beautiful order is in excellent condition with its details crisp. The enamels are stunning without repairs and have some small dings and contact marks only. Its reverse is in in excellent condition as well and shows an interesting pattern of stripes which is not the result of wear, but of the production process. The order comes with its time period and well fitted silver screwplate and its extremely long screw -typical for early Orders of the patriotic War- has not been shortened.

A real beauty and hard to upgrade as an early screwback type
