Awarded to Lt. Evgeniy Maksimovich Dmitriev (Евгений Максимович Дмитриев)
For his actions during the battle to capture the village of Tupilati on August 23, where he utilized his battery’s fire to suppress an enemy mortar battery, an artillery battery, and six machine-gun positions, while also destroying a bunker. These key accomplishments directly enabled the 1st Rifle Battalion to successfully cross the Moldova River
Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 45.2 mm in height, 43.6mm in width and weighs 30.3 grams without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark Monetni Dvor is located at the 12 o’clock position of its reverse.
In mice condition with crisp details. The white and red enamels are generally well preserved without repairs or flaking but show several dings and small scratches. Its reverse is in similar condition and both sides show a light toning to the silver and gold parts. The silver screwpate fits well and is time period to the order and its screw has not been shortened.
Brief description of his feat of arms or achievements for his Order of the Patriotic War 1st class:
In the battle on August 23, for the capture of the village of Tupilati, supporting the 1st Rifle Battalion, Comrade DMITRIEV, with the fire of his battery, suppressed the fire of an enemy mortar battery and the fire of 4 machine-gun positions. By doing so, he ensured the fulfillment of the rifle battalion’s objective to force the Moldova River and breach the enemy’s forward defensive line.
Having executed a maneuver, Lieutenant DMITRIEV’s battery suppressed the fire of an enemy artillery battery, 2 heavy machine guns, and destroyed a bunker (DZOT), thereby ensuring the fulfillment of the 1st Rifle Battalion’s subsequent objective to capture the village of Tupilati.
