For storming German trenches killing 2 fleeing Germans with a hand grenade, 2 with submachine gun fire, pulling out the “tongue” [prisoner for interrogation], 1 light machine gun, 2 rifles, a telephone set and returned without loss to their lines. As a result valuable command documents were delivered by the reconnaissance group
Variation with its mint mark in two lines
Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 46.83 mm in height, 44.57 mm in width and weighs 31.5 grams without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark Monetni Dvor is located at the 12 o’clock position of its reverse.
In superb, well above average condition with a appealing dark patina on both sides. The details are all crisp and both sides show few minuscule dings and scratches; not noticeable with the naked eye. The red and white enamels are beautiful without chipping, scratches or repairs. Its screwpate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.

02/11/1944 when performing a combat mission beneath the “Red Farm”, red comrade Uglanov acted fearlessly, reached the German trenches, threw a grenade, killing 2 fleeing Germans, killed 2 with submachine gun fire and rushed into the trench, pulling out the “tongue” [prisoner for interrogation], 1 light machine gun, 2 rifles, a telephone set and returned without loss to their lines. Valuable command documents were delivered by the reconnaissance group. Comrade Uglanov deserves the governmental award of the order of the Patriotic War of the 1 degree.
