Awarded to Captain Ivan Filippovich Bardikov (Иван Филиппович Бардиков)
For exhibiting exceptional military skill as well as personal courage and bravery during he strong German defence break through at Pultusk [near Warsaw]. He was the first to rush into the enemy trenches and personally eliminated 4 Hitlerites. Being wounded, he remained on the battlefield until the trench lines were captured and he was ordered to evacuate
Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 45.63 mm in height, 43.96 mm in width and weighs 30.7 grams without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark Monetni Dvor is located at the 12 o’clock position of its reverse.
In excellent condition with light overall wear and without repairs. The details are crisp and even the higher laying parts like the hammer and sickle are well defined. Both the white and red enamels are problem free apart from two small superficial chips on the 3 and 7 o’clock rays of the red star, not penetrating to the silver or distracting from the overall appeal of the order. Its well fitted screwpate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.

“In the combat operations for strong German defence break through in the sector 6km north-west of Pultusk, comrade BARDIKOV exhibited exceptional military skill in commanding the battalion on the battlefield, as well as personal courage and bravery.
Leading his men by personal example of courage and bravery, he was the first to raise into the attack and inspired the battalion personnel to follow him. He was the first to rush into the enemy trenches and personally eliminated 4 Hitlerites.
Being wounded, he remained on the battlefield until after the third enemy trench line were captured and the battalion commander ordered him to evacuate. The battalion achieved its combat objectives.
He deserves state award order “PATRIOTIC WAR I CLASS”.”
