Awarded to the Jewish Major Naum Izrailovich Zubovsky (Наум Израилович Зубовский)
For the liberation of Prague where he was always found among the units and for taking part in the assault of ‘Prague fortress’
Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 45.78 mm in height, 44.11 mm in width and weighs 31.0 grams. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark Monetni Dvor is located at the 12 o’clock position of its reverse.
This original order of the Patriotic War 1st class is in splendid condition with crisp details and without repairs. The white and red enamels are absolutely gorgeous and show some minor contact marks only, visible only under a magnifying glass. Its reverse is in excellent condition as well and shows that the order never has been disassembled. Its silver screwpate is time period to the order and the screw maintained its full length.

Major Zudovsky was deputy commander for political work for the 139th Engineer Sapper Battalion. He was Jewish. He previously earned a Red Star, Red Banner and a Patriotic War 2nd Class. Awarded for operations during the crossings (fordings) of the Western Bug and Vistula river and in operations for the liberation of the city of Prague. He inspired the troops through his bolshevik rhetoric and could always be found among the units. He took part in the assault of ‘Prague fortress’ [the famous Prague Castle].
