Early, wide variation with mirror reverse suspension
Made of silver and enamels. The medallion portraying the woman and child measures 31.17 mm in width, 41.08 mm in height and weighs 20.1 grams without its suspension.
This order is nice, above average condition considering its an early variation. The details are well defined and both sides show a medium patina to the silver. The blue and white enamels are fully present and without repairs but the red lacquer on the center star has worn off.
This decoration was awarded to all mothers bearing and raising 8 children. It was awarded at the first birthday of the last child. Children who had perished under heroic, military or other respectful circumstances were also counted.
