Awarded to Sr. Sergeant Aleksandr Yegorovich Parfyonov (Александр Егорович Парфенов)
For his bravery during battle at Gaisin [Ukraine], where he drove a cannon into an open firing position despite enemy tanks blocking the road, and later evacuated a wounded soldier under machine-gun fire
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 46.58 mm in width, 48.48 mm in height and weighs 26.6 grams without its suspension. The serial number is located on top of its reverse.
This early order is in worn bur decent condition considering it is an early piece. The raised areas show strong wear with some detail worn off. However, the shape of the tower and wreath are perfectly visible and the enamels are fully present without repairs and show some dings and superficial flaking only. Its connection ring has been cut and its early double layer steel suspension is time period to the order.

On March 13, 1944, during the fighting for the city of Gaisin, when German tanks blocked the road along which our infantry was advancing, comrade Parfyonov got in his vehicle to drive a cannon to an open firing position, and after this he evacuated a wounded soldier from under machine-gun fire.
He deserves the Order of Glory, 3rd Class.
