Order of Glory 3rd Class #326606

 

Awarded to Corporal Ivan Andreevich Kovernev (Иван Андреевич Ковернев)

 

For fighting on January 19th, 1945 at the city of Tilsit [East-Prussia] where he was among the first to burst into an enemy trench and, using machine gun fire, killed three Germans and captured another three

 

 

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 46.77 mm in width; 48.92 mm in height and weighs 23.3 gram without its suspension.

 

In a nice, about average condition with medium overall wear. A fair amount of detail is still visible although some on the raised parts like the wreath and tower are worn off.  The enamels are generally well preserved and fully present but show several small dings, scratches and superficial flakes. Its connection ring has not been cut and it comes with a double layer suspension.

 

Short translation of the citation:

In the battle on January 19, 1945 for the capture of the German city of TILSIT [East-Prussia], he was among the first to burst into an enemy trench and, using machine gun fire, destroyed three Germans and captured three.
